Campaigns

A campaign is an email you send to some or all of your subscribers. MailJawn guides you through every step — writing the email, choosing who receives it, previewing, and sending.

Campaign Lifecycle

Every campaign moves through a series of statuses:

Status What It Means
Draft You're still editing. The campaign hasn't been sent or scheduled.
Scheduled The campaign is locked in and will send at the date and time you chose.
Sending MailJawn is actively delivering the campaign right now.
Sent Delivery is complete. The campaign is read-only — you can view its analytics but can't edit it.
Draft ──► Scheduled ──► Sending ──► Sent
  │ ▲
  └────── Send Now ────────┘

You can cancel a scheduled campaign at any time before it starts sending, which returns it to Draft status so you can make changes.

Creating a Campaign

The typical workflow looks like this:

  1. Write your email — Compose your message using MJML, MailJawn's email markup language
  2. Add template variables — Personalize with subscriber names, custom fields, and more
  3. Choose your audience — Send to everyone, or target specific tags and segments
  4. Preview and test — See exactly what subscribers will receive
  5. Schedule or send — Send immediately or pick a future date and time
  6. Track results — MailJawn automatically adds UTM parameters to your links
