Subscribers¶
Subscribers are the people who receive your emails. Every subscriber belongs to an app and is identified by their email address — one email per app, no duplicates.
How Subscribers Enter Your App¶
There are four ways people become subscribers:
| Method | Best For | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Swift SDK | In-app signups from your iOS/macOS app | sdk-swift |
| CSV Import | Migrating from another platform (Sendy, Mailchimp, etc.) | csv |
| Subscribe Forms | Website signup forms, landing pages | form |
| Dashboard | Manually adding individual subscribers | dashboard |
Each method records a source so you always know where a subscriber came from.
Subscriber Data¶
Every subscriber has:
- Email (required) — the unique identifier within your app
- Name (optional) — display name for personalization
- Status — where they are in the lifecycle (active, unsubscribed, bounced, etc.)
- Tags — labels for organizing and targeting
- Custom fields — flexible key-value data for personalization
- Device info — automatically collected by the SDK (device type, OS, app version, locale, timezone)
- Activity timestamps —
first_seenandlast_seenfor engagement tracking
